This is our final year..

Yes it has happened, closed down after repairing cameras and lenses since 1948.  But we will be starting up again from about mid March with a limited film camera/lens repair service from our home workshops, watch this space for news.

Welcome to the Ex. Newton Ellis & Co. website!

Newton Ellis & Co. was a team of professionally trained technicians servicing and repairing all types of photograph equipment - We have now closed down due to retirement but are hoping to start up again with limited film camera and lens repairs, cleaning and servicing again from our home workshops.

We hope to be up and running about mid March 2025 and this website will be updated before then with details of how we are going to operate and which cameras and lenses we will look at.

LATEST INFORMATION

 

Newton Ellis & Co. has now closed down so do not send any repairs to the Cheapside address.  We will still be answering emails over the holidays.

Any contacts please only use the normal email address on the website.

We do plan to do limited film camera/lens repairs probably about mid March from our home workshops so any payments will be in the new tax year.

Please note that we will not be looking at any digital cameras, modern autofocus lenses, camcorders, binoculars and some medium format cameras in the future.  We will list most of what we will be looking at such as Leica M series up to M6, Rolleiflex/cord TLR's, Olympus OM-1,2,3,4, Nikon F, F2, F3, non zoom manual lenses etc.

We will have an updated list in January of  what equipment we will be looking at and the way we will operate.

If you have any repairs with us which have been a long time  or if they are un-repaired and you wish to collect them then let us know so we can keep them aside as we will have to clear out many cameras and lenses from our premises.  We plan to be at the Cheapside address until the end of January sorting out things.
